For May 1, 2009
You have heard the news; now, the analysis…
Fellow Biafrans:
We have started programs on the ground in our struggle to be our own people in our own land, to rule ourselves in our own land, to be responsible for our own collective destiny on our own land, and to be our own master over our own land—we, the people of the nation of Biafra, in this the land of the Sovereign Independent State of Biafra. The Biafra Charter is the authority, mandate and reference for these programs. Our participation—all of us—is required in these programs.
Before we mention the programs, let us not forget that it is also our prime responsibility to get our brethren still held in Nigeria’s jails for pro-Biafra actualization activities released. We very much welcome the five brethren just released last week; we praise their courage and acknowledge what they have sacrificed and done for us, in our place, and for Biafra. Heroes they are: every single one of them! We must now also insist on the release of Uchenna Madu and our other brethren who remain in Nigeria’s prisons for the same non-violent pro-Biafran activities. We shall not rest until every single one of them is released: that, we vow.
The first program is the formation of the Biafra Shadow Government at home. "Government," for Biafrans and in Biafra. means "government of the people, by the people, for the people." This means, YOU! Every single one of you. This program will succeed because we are putting the entire people of Biafra where they belong in this struggle: right back IN the struggle, through their own government, with their own government and by their own government, a government which they have designed and operate. We all belong in the struggle now, and each citizen shall participate in the struggle directly and indirectly. The people of Biafra will no longer leave the salvation and liberation of Biafra in the hands of one or few organizations, or in the hands of one man or a few. We can all see how it is the wise thing to do that we all are co-participants, if not equal participants—each and every one of us—in this act of actualizing Biafra. So, let’s do it—all of us. Let’s complete the process of installing the Shadow Government. If anyone is not participating, or is deliberately working against this program, such a person or persons have declared against Biafra and her people, against us; but the end result remains the same: Biafra shall be; Biafra is. Biafra will surely be actualized.
The second program is the formation of a coalition—an umbrella structure—for all pro-Biafran organizations for the purposes of coordination, cooperation and synergy, in order that our unity in purpose and strength in numbers can work to our advantage in our singular, shared goal of Biafra actualization. Such a coalition does not aim to absorb all pro-Biafran organizations into one giant structure, no. Nor is the aim of the coalition to centralize authority or power, something all Biafrans have now learned to loathe. Each organization may retain its own unique identity as it desires, and play its own role in its own niche. What is needed is coordination, cooperation and synergy: that’s what the coalition is for. We urge all pro-Biafran groups to join this coalition. We all know the importance of organizations; we will participate.
Let no one forget: it is our right to live and be free from military and sociopolitical subjugation by Nigeria. God did not create us so that Nigeria can enslave and exploit us, so that Nigeria can drag us down into permanent failure, collapse, chaos, and Hell: no. We have no interest in waging war or peace against Nigeria, nor are we waging war or peace with Nigeria when we exercise our God-given right to live and fulfill the talents endowed on us by God. Our only interest is to BE—to be as God made us, to be what God made us, in the land, Biafraland, which God made and placed us in: none of it has anything to do with Nigeria. We do not, should not and cannot live for the benefit or pleasure of Nigeria, or on account of Nigeria—no!; we live because it pleases God to make it so; and since God has made it so, we must live. It is our Divine right, and we will claim this right and enjoy it, any day and every day. This, always remember.
Biafra alive! Because it is God Who makes it so.
That’s the News Analysis for the week. Thank you.
