This is the News Analysis segment of the Voice of Biafra International (VOBI) broadcasts

For January 2 2009

You have heard the news; now, the analysis…

Fellow Biafrans:

This New Year, 2009, we want Biafra: we have to actualize Biafra.

Let’s not waste our time making usual New Year Resolutions if we are not willing to work to actualize such resolutions. Let’s stop making New Year Wishes unless we are willing to forego the childishness of idle traditions, and instead, will do what grown men and grown women do, what serious people do, which is to act—to work very hard and sacrifice whatever in order that they may attain their heart’s most precious desire.

Yes, 2009 must be the year of action to actualize Biafra. The world has neither respect nor sympathy for those who fight for their own rights only half-heartedly, or not at all; those who cry for others to come and do for them what they should be doing, what they must do, for themselves. Stand wherever you are now and deliver Biafra now. Anything else is foolishness, of which we do not have the luxury at this time. In 2009, act like smart people; focus on the real task, from which there is no running away. Actualize Biafra!

We dedicate this 2009 New Year broadcast to all our brave pro-Biafran activists, especially those in Nigerian jails, especially MASSOB members, who have lost family members, relatives and friends while in jail and or because, directly or indirectly, they are in jail. We commend their loved ones to the Bosom of the Almighty; we commend them themselves to the Love of the All-Loving. Our greatest response, our best commendation, our best prayer, our best consolation, remains the actualization of Biafra. This year, let us do just that. For their sake. For our sake. For God’s sake.

This New Year, resolve to actualize Biafra, in 2009. Follow through with action. Action, action, action, more action: nonstop action.

Biafra alive! Because it is God Who makes it so. This year, 2009, WE MAKE it tangibly so.

That’s the News Analysis for the week. Thank you.
