This is the News Analysis segment of the Voice of Biafra International (VOBI) broadcasts
For May 23, 2008
You have heard the news; now, the analysis…
Fellow Biafrans:
On May 30 1967 Biafra came to be. Nothing can change that. Nothing has changed that. Nothing will ever change that fact: it is forever etched in the memory of collective Humanity, in the history of the Universe.
Umu Biafra: na ubochi ogu-na-iri na Onwa May na afo 1967, ka Obodo ohuru a na a kpo Biafra—Obodo anyi—kwuuru. Nkea wu Eziokwu nke baara na akuko nke uwa a na a kpo World History; Eziokwu nke e nweghi nchefu na obi mmadu.
Biafra came to be on May 30 1967 from the blood of our people spilled without mercy by Nigeria, specifically, by Northern Nigerians; from the spirits of our people brutally murdered with sadistic relish by Northern Nigerians; from the agony of our people wounded, maimed and crippled by Northerners; from the losses of our people routed, dispossessed and displaced by Northerners. These are facts written indelible with the blood of our people and carved on our collective flesh and on the fabric of humanity for the record.
O wu site na obara umunne anyi gbara mgbe nde Nigeria—nde Awusa—gburu ha ka Biafra jiri bia, kwuuru na ubochi May 30 1967 ahu; o wu site na mmuo umunne anyi ndi Awusa gburu ka Biafra jiri kwuuru; site na ahuhu umunne anyi tara mgbe ndi Awusa meruru ha ahu, gbuo ha, ka Biafra jiri kwuuru; site na ufu furu umunne anyi—mgbe ndi Awusa jiri chufu ha na ala Northern Nigeria, napu umunne anyi ihe ha kpatara na aku-na-uba na ihe ha wuru na ebe ahu—ka Biafra jiri bia, kwuuru. Ihe ndia na ile mere, e jiri obara umunne anyi ndia na anya-mmiri-akwa ha gbaa ya na akwuko Akuko Okike a na a kpo History.
Biafra came to be on May 30 1967 because of Genocide against our people committed by Nigeria and Northern Nigerians in particular. Biafra came to be because of the unrelenting hatred of our people by Nigeria and Northern Nigerians. Biafra came to be because of extreme, brutal and irrational prejudice against our people by Nigerians and Northern Nigerians. These are facts: they are evident and or operational in Nigeria today as they have always been since the inception of Nigeria.
The year 2008 marks the forty-first anniversary of Biafra’s Independence, and we are going to go out and celebrate this May 30 with fan fair and with flair—along with other chosen days for the event. We are going to remember the never forgotten facts; and we are going to plan for our future based on those facts. It is our day; it is our occasion. It is all Biafra
Afo 2008 mere ya ogu-afo-abuo-na-otu kemgbe Biafra jiri kwuuru.
We will follow MASSOB’s lead and instructions. There is the billed, all-important peaceful Million-Man March: everyone needs to participate in one way or another. This is a non-violent, peaceful activity. We must keep it that way—non-violent and peaceful. In fact, we will use this to determine who our real enemies are: those who engage in violence of any type, be they Nigerians and or Nigeria Agencies, or the efulefu among us. This event remains non-violent and peaceful on our part, even though, as predicted, Nigeria will outdo herself in its historical brutality against our unarmed and harmless people. We must show Courage: courage to carry out our planned activity, and even more courage to complete it in peace and non-violence, though Nigeria’s armed units descend on us with typical unbridled and murderous fury.
Anyi ga e so ndu MASSOB. Anyi dum ga e so na Million-Man March nke MASSOB si anyi mee na emume ya. Ma, anyi ga e so uzo MASSOB—uzo nke udo—mee ya.
Nothing reminds us of Nigeria’s ongoing injustice against Biafra like the imprisonment without bail and without trial of our fellow Biafrans of the MASSOB, like Uchenna Madu, his fellow MASSOB officials, and other MASSOB members who remain in Nigeria’s jails; the status of Uwazurike, the Leader of MASSOB himself, is unclear as another adjournment of the court case has just been handed down by Nigeria. For the duration of Biafra’s Independence occasion, let us look upon these our brethren as the flesh and blood personification of the reasons why we must have Biafra. Let us thus remember that only Biafra can truly set them and us all free from the wholesale jail that is Nigeria.
O nweghi ihe na e me ka anyi na e cheta njo Nigeria ka na e me Biafra di ka umu Biafra ndi MASSOB ka no na mkporo Nigeria, umunne anyi di ka Uchenna Madu na ndi ndu MASSOB ibe ya ndi ozo, na umu otu MASSOB ndi ozo; anyi a maghi onodu Uwazurike, onye isi MASSOB, na ihe gbasara bail ma o wu mkporo, maka otu Nigeria ji e me ikpe ya. Cheta nu umunne anyi ndia na oge ya, oge emume Biafra Independence; jiri unu otua ghota ihe o jiri wuru na anyi ga e nwetariri Biafra: naani Biafra ga a zoputa ha na anyi na ile site na aka mkporo ahu a na a kpo Nigeria.
Biafra alive! Because it is God Who makes it so.
That’s the News Analysis for the week. Thank you.
Biafra: biri kwa!
Biafra, ndu gi! Biafra, ndu gi!! Biafra, ndu gi!!!—na ndu anyi kwa. Maka Chineke nonyere la gi—nonyere kwa ra anyi!
Ndewo.
God bless and keep Biafra, and you, until our next broadcast. Voice of Biafra International (VOBI) broadcast continues (http://www.biafraland.com/vobi.htm).
