This is the News Analysis segment of the Voice of Biafra International (VOBI) broadcasts

For October 12, 2007

You have heard the news; now, the analysis…

Fellow Biafrans:

We would like for you to remain vigilant and we pray that you cultivate Discernment in these (and for that matter, other and all) days as Biafraland and Nigeria are caught in the grips of the possibility of Nigeria for once doing the right thing by her granting bail to Ralph Uwazurike, the leader of MASSOB, and other MASSOB members currently being unjustly held in Nigeria’s prisons. For, it appears that many groups and individuals with dubious motives have now joined the chorus in support of bail grant for these our brethren, but sing different refrains because they pursue contrary self-interest agendas and want to be seen to be delivering what Nigeria wants though such compromise our brethren’s principles and stance.

For the avoidance of doubt, let us state for the record the following:

1)    We have no reason to believe that Nigeria is ready to correct her egregious error made when she imprisoned Ralph Uwazurike and other MASSOB officers and MASSOB members, by either granting them bail, or withdrawing those unfounded charges and setting them free, any time soon.

2)    Ralph Uwazurike would never sign any agreement with our persecutor and tormentor, Nigeria, which runs contrary to Biafra actualization agenda, not even as a condition for their release.

3)    When Nigeria actually stops behaving like a mean animal and decides to undo her meanness, and Ralph Uwazurike and all other MASSOB members are out of Nigeria’s jails, it will not be because Uwazurike / MASSOB made any concessions to Nigeria; MASSOB agenda will continue on unabated until Biafra actualization.

4)    All MASSOB members in Nigeria’s jails, not just Ralph Uwazurike, their leader, must be granted bail and or released from Nigeria’s Gulag.

5)    Biafra actualization process is ongoing, whether or not Nigeria pursues her foolishness by continuing to hold our people in her jails or not.

So, remain vigilant, watching for those who want Uwazurike to renounce Biafra in any way as a condition for bail: such are against us. Remain vigilant for those who say they will promise Nigeria, on behalf of Uwazurike and MASSOB, that Uwazurike will not disturb Nigeria’s status after release. They are liars, because MASSOB motto is “non-violence, non-cooperation, non-exodus,” in our pursuit of Biafra actualization: it remains that way until we achieve Biafra’s liberation from Nigeria.

Watch for those who oppose the release of Uwazurike and our beloved MASSOBians for the reason that they, the efulefu, would not be able to guarantee peace and quiet in the East if Uwazurike and co are out of jail. We ask them: All this while that Uwazurike and co have been locked away in Nigeria’s jails, has it been “the picture of peace and quiet” in the East? Fools! And, watch out for those, like crusty, crafty, greedy Joe Achuzie who has his own personal and stupid reasons for using the vehicle of Ohaneze to oppose the release of our brethren; we see that Old Age has conferred confoundment rather than wisdom on him. Achuzie and his ilk deserve only our pity.

Fellow Biafrans: when the UN passed the General Assembly Resolution A/61/295 of September 13 2007 which recognizes and supports the rights of indigenous nations to Self Determination and to the control of their own resources, on that day, even though we had all along known that we are morally correct and politically right, our drive for Self Determination for Biafra and our claim and exercise of that right had “passed International Muster” and gained International boost. Do not forget that Nigeria did not oppose the Resolution rather, preferring to stay neutral. And that, Nigeria’s strongest ally, Britain / UK, was one of the overwhelming majority of States which voted in favor of the resolution.

If Nigeria did not have the face to oppose UN A/61/295, on what grounds would she now continue to punish those seeking Self Determination for Biafra? And, since Britain / UK  supports the Resolution, why would the same Britain support Nigeria’s ongoing brutal efforts to suppress Self Determination for Biafra? Or, did Britain support the Resolution in order not to alienate its own Scottish ethnic nation which is considering Self Determination for its people, the Scots? If so, we have to conclude, then, that what is good for the “UK goose” must NOT also be good for the “African gander”—a conclusion which in fact has explained ongoing colonialism in Africa?

So, you see, brethren, our struggle has been receiving a huge boost from other quarters—help which we have not played up or exploited adequately. Yes, indeed, God is answering all those prayers of ours for Biafra actualization: pray now, may He give us Discernment to see what His hand has already wrought for us!

Therefore, anyone thinking that Ralph Uwazurike would be forced or tricked into signing away Biafra actualization as a condition for bail is just dreaming. Anyone who thinks that Biafra actualization is going to be affected negatively whether Uwazurike is released or not, is just kidding him or herself. Ironically, Nigeria understands all this; it is the efulefu Biafrans who do not want to understand it, because they believe that it would offend their masters should the efulefu understand this reality and act as such. In this, the folly of the efulefu is made double: their masters already know that Biafra is unstoppable—that Biafra is inevitable.

So we conclude by once again urging you all: “Have in you this mind that is in Ralph Uwazurike,” when it comes to Biafra actualization.

And, we want to encourage you all again by saying: Remember UN Resolution A/61/295 accepting Self Determination by indigenous nations; remember that Nigeria did not oppose it, and that Britain / UK voted in favor of it. Let us redouble our efforts at Self Determination for Biafra.

Biafra alive! Because it is God Who makes it so.

That’s the News Analysis for the week. Thank you.
