This is the News Analysis segment of the Voice of Biafra International (VOBI) broadcasts

For June 9th 2007

You have heard the news; now, the analysis…

Fellow Biafrans:

We re-affirmed the Declaration of Biafra Independence during the last broadcast; we also celebrated May 30 as not only Biafra Independence Day but also, as Biafra Day. No one can take this away from us anymore; neither shall we wait for this to be “granted us” by any other power or principality or institution or state anymore. Let no one forget this.

Remember that Biafra received Diplomatic Recognition from a few countries following the original declaration. Attempts by Nigeria to have such diplomatic recognition rescinded or annulled have met with defeat for Nigeria, even though Biafra arch-enemies such as Obasanjo have not stopped working on this with all feverishness, with threats and intimidation, in the typical style of Obasanjo and his Nigeria. Biafra Independence Declaration stands.

Biafra has outlived most of her opponents and will outlive the remaining, one by one. Biafra grows in strength even as her opponents dwindle in number and dim in influence by the day. Biafra is here to stay.

Look around you: although you have wisely and willingly accepted and adopted what is naturally and by right yours—Biafra—there was no other choice; there is, in fact, no other alternative to Biafra. See how Nigeria continues her freefall into the abyss, staggering under the weight of her own fraud, corruption and immorality, blinded by her hatred of Biafrans. See how unwary Biafrans who joined Nigeria have fared: they were used against us, chewed and drained, for Obasanjo and Nigeria’s pleasure and then, spat out; now, Yar’Adua continues in the same footsteps. These efulefu Biafrans are beginning to confess the damage done to us by them in collusion with Nigeria, by their silence as Nigeria mauled our people. While they confess, another stupid batch have just joined the Nigeria fraudulent enterprise again under Yar’Adua, as if they have forgotten what just happened. But, we already see the direction Yar’Adua is treading—in the same groove laid by his previous masters, arch-enemies of Biafra.  The rest is predictable. So, we see how there is not a hope for Nigeria, and no hope in Nigeria, and how it is that there is, as a matter of fact, no other way to go than Biafra.

For this reason, pay no mind to efulefu Biafrans who have refused to learn anything from what is happening around them. They are those who are doing Nigeria’s bidding against our people in the name of running a [Nigeria] government foisted over our people. They are those who call themselves “leaders,” while, all the time, all they do is to prove that they are incapable of learning, incapable of discernment, incapable of distinguishing right from wrong, and incapable of doing the right thing. They do not know what they are doing, and have no clue as to what is going on, only to abuse power and steal public money. Whatever they touch will turn to dust; whatever they “lead” is already hopelessly lost; their plans are darkness itself; and they are already cursed with lack of vision.

Even while forced to live under one-Nigeria’s fraudulent political and useless economic structure, we must conduct ourselves in such a manner as to “be in it,” if need be, “but not be of it,” as we engage in the struggle to get to our destination, Biafra actualization. We will live our lives true to our Biafranism, even if under one-Nigeria occupation for this part of our journey. Because, even an entire Universe of Darkness could never overcome just one flicker of Light. The Light of Biafra—the light that is Biafra—shines through, magnified by us, even when we are forced to dwell in the profound darkness known as Nigeria.

We stick with Biafra because we are Biafra: “onye kwee, Chi ya e kwee. We stay the Biafra-course because that is the only path to life, away from corruption, death and decay known as Nigeria. We are Biafra and Biafra is us and nothing is going to change that. We must carry ourselves with the dignity of Biafra and show the confidence of Biafra; we must continue to prove the courage of Biafrans as we work to actualize Biafra and gain our liberty and freedom, finally. For, Biafra is our Destiny; Biafra is our life now and in the future. Likewise, the destiny of Biafra is us, and the fulfillment of Biafra is us.

We demand the release of Ralph Uwazurike, the Leader of MASSOB, from Nigeria’s jails. We demand the release of Uchenna Madu, the Information Director of MASSOB, from Nigeria’s jails. We demand the release of other MASSOB officials from Nigeria’s jails. We demand the release of all other MASSOB members from Nigeria’s jails. We demand the release of all those working for Biafra actualization, including Asari Dokubo, from Nigeria’s jails. The exercise of the right of Self Determination is a Moral Duty. It is a right recognized by the UN Charter. It cannot be criminalized by Nigeria. Our brethren are not guilty of any crimes. They are heroes: they are exemplars of courage and honesty. Their unjust jailing in the first place is an indictment of Nigeria.

Biafra alive! Because it is God Who makes it so.

That’s the News Analysis for the week. Thank you.
