This is the News Analysis segment of the Voice of Biafra International (VOBI) broadcasts

For January 6th, 2007

You have heard the news; now, the analysis…

Fellow Biafrans:

Everyone has that sense of impending doom for Nigeria these days. If senses were not, in fact, dulled all these decades in the first place, we should recognize that DOOM has always been associated with Nigeria. First, we hoped against hope that Nigeria will be better: that is hopeless. The hope was drunk and dashed. Then, we went into denial: “it shall be well with us in Nigeria…” became the mantra; but all reality proved otherwise and pointed to one thing: we are worse in Nigeria; we are worse off in Nigeria; and as if that is not bad enough, we will never get better in Nigeria. Nigeria will never get better. Next, we became paralyzed with fear because of our mind-boggling and awful experience in Nigeria. And, finally, now, we are paralyzed because we are beyond even fear: one has to be alive to be afraid, but we are now in coma—not quite yet dead, but definitely not quite alive. It is only those of us who have woken up to survey and analyze our plight in Nigeria and have recognized that to survive and to live again, we must seek the separation out of Nigeria of our Nation of Biafra. So, never forget how we got here, and why we got here: Nigeria has never worked, and will never work. Nigeria kills us. Biafra works: it is our Divine endowment and our Divinely-mandated destiny. Biafra is life.

We remind you of this because, depending on the death-trajectory taken by Nigeria (death of Nigeria is the given and fixed endpoint, regardless of which path Nigeria takes to it), there may be offers and concepts presented to you—disingenuous offers and deceptive ideas which invariably seek to preserve one-Nigeria in one form or another. Always, our answer is, Biafra! Nothing less, nothing else! Always, our answer is Biafra.  Never again, Nigeria—no matter what form. Biafra it is, Biafra it will be.

We know that compromisers have already been bribed and sent out to Biafraland to try to sell the idea of another political dispensation for Nigeria, still based on one-Nigeria and governance and rulership by Northerners, with the promise of giving some important positions to the Biafrans. Just think about it for a moment: Biafra has manpower. Biafra has Resources. Biafra sits on its own natural landmass. Biafra has know-how, motivation and drive. And, equally important, Biafra has a higher population than Fulani alone or Hausa alone, and even both—Hausa-Fulani—combined. On these bases alone, why should any Biafran—even a baby—listen to these compromisers? No way! Those who love Nigeria can keep Nigeria and stay in it by themselves and perish with it: our interest is in Life, in the Liberty and Freedom of Human Beings and particularly, of our people; and in the pursuit of our existential fulfillment, things which Nigeria is completely devoid of, and which Nigeria has specifically and consistently sworn to deny us. Biafra is the full antidote to Nigeria, the complete answer, and the opportunity to pursue and consummate this afore-stated interest.

So, if anyone wants to sell you Nigeria elections in 2007, Say, No! We are going to boycott any and all Nigeria elections. We are not interested in what party: PDP, ACP, “Pee-anything,” not even APGA. We are not concerned about who is running for what in those elections, our answer is, Boycott! Even if Dim Ojukwu himself wants to subject himself to another Nigerian fraud called elections, we shall still boycott those elections (and in so doing, also, preserve Dim’s dignity from tarnishment by Nigeria). Boycott 2007 elections: that’s our action.

If ever Nigeria has the guts to publish any Census figures, reject them, ignore them. The Census was designed to cheat our people, right from inception once the North cleverly manipulated the process and insisted on the removal of Ethnicity- and Religion-identifying parameters. The conduct of the Census obviously brought shame to Nigeria, exposing its inability to conduct its own census and manage a serious process. Moreover, we waged an active campaign for our people to boycott the Census, and even Nigeria admits that our anti-census campaign was effective. Reject Census results: ignore them.

Demand the release of Ralph Uwazurike, the Leader of MASSOB; Uchenna Madu, the Information Director of MASSOB, other MASSOB officials, and all MASSOB members; and other Biafrans from Nigeria’s jails, now. In case of sudden implosion of Nigeria, work with the scared and uncertain prison guards, providing assurances and incentives for them in exchange for the safe and secure release of our people while reminding these guards that they will be held personally responsible, hunted down and brought to trial if any harm should come to even a single one of our people under their custody during the turmoil. Act, this time, to obtain the safe and unconditional release of MASSOB members and other Biafrans currently in Nigeria’s jails.

Get ready: stay ready! It’s 2007. Here comes Nigeria’s final dance of death. Here comes Biafra actualization!

Biafra alive! Because it is God Who makes it so.

That’s the News Analysis for the week.   Thank you.
