This is the News Analysis segment of the Voice of Biafra International (VOBI) broadcasts

For December 2nd, 2006

You have heard the news; now, the analysis…

Fellow Biafrans:

This week, three news items and their implications should not escape us:

1)    The recent visit of the Prince of Wales, Prince Charles from Britain, to Nigeria;

2)    Obasanjo’s deal with China to construct Railway Systems between Western Nigeria and Northern Nigeria.

3)    U.S. “qualified” rejection of Nigeria’s request For US Marines In Niger Delta

Every single one of these reports shares one thing in common with the other: Nigeria’s policy to operate as if Eastern Nigeria is no longer significant, is no longer there, is not part of Nigeria.

The Prince of Wales specifically chose to visit almost exclusively Muslim Northern Nigeria on his official trip to Nigeria. Earlier a reason or reasons had been offered for this aberration and curiosity: a very contrived explanation why he selectively picked the Muslim territory, to say the list. It was a very weak series of excuses which displayed shameless hypocrisy and subterfuge. Especially when one connects the dots: earlier, when the Queen of England visited Nigeria, she was quartered in Muslim Northern Nigeria among the Muslim—of all the places. This is all coming at a time when Islam has deliberately positioned itself as the greatest threat and enemy of Britain—and Europe, for that matter. This is coming at a time when the Christians in Eastern Nigerian, who, for the most part, are converts of British missionaries, are being decimated and are under constant threat of forced Islamization by Northern Nigerian Muslims—a fact which we are certain does not elude the learned Royalty.

What the Monarchy in UK decides to do and how, is their business. What is our business is to read the “handwriting on the wall” and interpret it correctly. We see that the British Monarchy—the ideologue, engine and head of colonial British rule in these parts of Africa—has today continued what it started in the 1800’s. History is unambiguous in this: the only reason to forcefully “amalgamate” the then British so-called Southern Protectorate and the then British Northern Protectorate to form “Nigeria” is that colonial Britain specifically wanted to use the South to provide the resources to run and sustain the North. Then, as now, the British government preferred and favored the Northern Muslim over the Southern peoples, ironically, even as the British missionaries were busy making Christians out of the Southerners. The rest of the troubled history of Nigeria can be summarized thus: the British government compromising and sacrificing the entire Southern Nigeria: peoples, Christians—their lives, property, and resources, their society and politics—in order to promote, uphold and make supreme Muslim Northern Nigeria, but all the while, Nature herself stood in silent but unwavering defiance against the illogic of the British plan. That, in essence, is the ongoing friction—the trouble that has always been Nigeria, the problem that is Nigeria today. Speaking of that, today, no group symbolizes such exploitation and sacrifice of the South, instituted and well-serviced by the British, as the old “South-Eastern” Nigeria: the Igbo—the Biafrans. We see today that the original disdain and loathe of the Igbo / Biafrans practiced by the British, imparted to the Muslim North, and disseminated to the rest of Nigeria, has morphed into total neglect of the Igbo and kin, and their region. The UK now acts as if the Igbo and their region do not exist, and their Royal visits and acts serve to emphasize that message. And for Nigeria, Igbo has been caused by policy and deed to cease to exist in Nigeria: last year, did Obasanjo himself not try to write into the Nigerian Constitution an amendment dropping Igbo as one of the official Nigerian languages?

When Obasanjo-Nigeria and the Chinese recently concluded the deal to build modern railways for Nigeria, did it ever occur to Obasanjo to have the railroad-deal extended to the East—Igboland / Biafraland? What is the source of the financial resources needed to construct the Obasanjo-Nigeria / Chinese railways system in Nigeria? Is it not the Oil from the East—from Igboland and Biafraland? Yet, the railway network only connects Western Nigeria and Northern Nigeria, making an undeniably eloquent statement that there is no such thing as “Eastern Nigeria.”

Next, we see Obasanjo poised to sell Eastern Nigeria to China or to the highest bidder for the Oil—as long as he / Nigeria collect the Oil profits and use the funds to improve Northern Nigeria and Western Nigeria, it makes no difference to them if the Chinese Army occupies and subjugates our people, under the not-so-guise of protecting the Oil supply(not even protecting the people or protecting the land), now that the US may refuse to play such an inhumane, a-moral and immoral role. The fate of Bakassi at the hands of Nigeria and Obasanjo should lay to rest any doubts on this matter.

So, fellow Biafrans, you can see that the annihilation of the Igbo and Biafrans in the minds and policies of Obasanjo and Nigeria and Caliphates, is complete: they no longer recognize Igbo / Igboland / Biafraland as being in existence. Nor do their friends in UK and China and Muslim countries. The efulefu Igbo and other efulefu Biafrans who cling to one-Nigeria refuse to read the writing on the wall, never mind attempt to decipher it, never mind try even to understand it. But, we won’t ignore the writing, fellow Biafrans. We know what is going on. We will not allow anyone, any group, any government or any institution to prepare a grave for us and push us into it and bury us in that grave. God will not permit us—forget them—to commit such an offense. That is why we must all support the MASSOB agenda for Self Determination for Biafra leading to the Sovereign and Independent Nation of Biafra where we shall preserve and bring to bear fruit God’s endowments to us. That is why we call for the release of Ralph Uwazurike, the leader of MASSOB, Uchenna Madu, other MASSOB officials, and all MASSOB members being held in Nigeria’s jails and other detention contraptions in Nigeria: they have to be released now to continue to pursue that agenda, unfettered. Biafra actualization is not a crime: what is a crime is not actualizing Biafra at this time. Not actualizing Biafra is a crime against Nature, against Humanity and against God.

Biafra alive! Because it is God Who makes it so.

That’s the News Analysis for the week.   Thank you.
