This is the News Analysis segment of the Voice of Biafra International (VOBI) broadcasts

For November 4th, 2006

You have heard the news; now, the analysis…

Fellow Biafrans:

Allow us to repeat the teaching-point in the form of a story-dialogue which we have all heard many times from our parents and grandparents. A father once called his children together to select one of them to represent and lead the rest of the beleaguered family in a struggle against a vicious and wicked oppressor who had no conscience. His question presented to each child was: “How many times will you be struck before you hit back?”

The first child responded something like, “well, I have to determine if the perpetrator really meant to hit me in the first place, which means, probably after the third or fourth blow; by then I will know that he is serious and has a malicious intent; then, I will retaliate next time he hits me after that.” The second child, on his part, responded: “well, the oppressor is strong; if I do not strike back, maybe he will stop hitting me eventually; I do not want to make him angrier…” For his response, the third child said: “I will match him hit for hit: if he strikes me, I will strike him right back, there and then.” It was the last child who spoke up and asked: “isn’t this oppressor known for his unprovoked aggression? Since he is already planning on hitting me anyway, before he can actually carry out his plan, I will do something to neutralize him, first…”  At this, the old man smiled: “we, in this family, have our representative and leader, at last…”

Fellow Biafrans, we have a bunch of corrupt-wealthy and or politically powerful buffoons in our land who do not have any intention of even challenging our enemy, Nigeria, in any way. They are afraid that they might make the enemy angrier by challenging her (and this is an enemy, Nigeria, who has never stopped punching us in the first place). So, they do everything to appease the enemy, even though they can see clearly that that is not working. Persons like Orji Uzor Kalu and his supporters want us to become re-enslaved by the Northern Muslims and Caliphates, that way, the latter can be mollified (and maybe, just maybe, they may “select” Kalu for a presidential candidate for Nigeria come 2007?). Orji Kalu recently appointed one of the Caliphates as Chancellor of Abia State University. Are there no better qualified Igbo for this post that Kalu could find in the locality proper, not to speak of the entire Igboland-Biafraland? Especially, when we all know that many educated Igbo have taken on multiple higher and higher degrees but yet cannot find a job, only to end up unemployed or as Okada drivers? And especially, when we know that the rest of Nigeria specifically removed obviously better qualified Igbo from positions of significance in their own Universities, replaced them with relatively less qualified indigenes, and, in this day and age, would never even consider giving such jobs to meritorious and qualified Igbo? Kalu calls this “bridge-building”; if we call it “cowardice,” we would be paying Kalu a compliment; but we call it what it really is: sheer idiocy, stupidity, immaturity and childishness which even a child would not be caught doing.

Elsewhere, Peter Obi, in sheer fright of the oppressor, runs to the oppressor’s very bosom—much as a child giving himself up to the persecutor in complete submission, bringing along his siblings as human sacrifice and appeasement, childishly hoping against hope that the persecutor will be merciful to him. Peter Obi thus ran into the bosom of the personifications of Nigeria’s oppression and enmity towards our people: General Obasanjo and Sunday Ehindero, the Inspector-General of the Nigeria Police. Well, these oppressors have quickly shown Obi why they have consistently and always earned their characterization as oppressors, tormentors, persecutors and enemies of our people.

And then, there is the entire political class in Igboland / Biafraland. They are for the most part members of PDP, and proud of that, too. Can anyone tell us what PDP has ever done for our people if not cheat us, humiliate us, exploit us, mock us, kill us, dispossess us—punch and hit us—all the time? Yet, the political class is flocking thereto, and actually preparing to engage in future Nigeria elections which, in any case, have already been rigged, and of course, rigged to disfavor our people, even as we speak? The Igbo in Diaspora and many Elite belong to this class: expected to use their exposure to well-functioning socio-political systems to better themselves and then, light the way for our people at home to challenge the oppressor, they have become like the second child in the story. They don’t dare confront the oppressor, Nigeria.

But, like the old man in the story, we can all smile and all be proud that there is MASSOB and other staunch pro-Biafran groups who work tirelessly in different and committed ways to neutralize super aggressor-Nigeria. By resolving to actualize Biafra, no matter what Nigeria does or does not do, and no matter what happens to Nigeria, MASSOB is set to neutralize Nigeria and is doing a great job of it. MASSOB is our designated representative and leader in our struggle against Nigeria: MASSOB is effective—and, oh boy, how well Nigeria knows it, too! Nigeria is furiously and feverishly throwing every single punch in its arsenal against MASSOB, but Nigeria could never succeed. There is no stopping one who knows and understands that what he wants is what is naturally and divinely his, and that it is time—a moral, divine and existential duty—to take it back from exploitative and monstrous usurpation, persecution and oppression.

It is in Africa and the World’s best interest that Biafra actualization, which will happen sooner or later, anyway, occurs right now. Biafra is exactly what is needed—what the world needs—to stabilize the region and move it into the path of peace, security and progress at this point when the turbulent death throes from the inescapable demise of Nigeria heat up the region dangerously and oscillate World-markets near out-of-control. For this reason, Ralph Uwazurike, the leader of MASSOB, Uchenna Madu, other MASSOB leaders and members, have to be released from Obasanjo’s Nigerian jails so that they can continue and carry out the non-violent agenda leading to the independence of sovereign Biafra and its people. The World must think security, stability, peace and progress—conditions sorely lacking now with Nigeria, conditions which Biafra will restore quickly.

Biafra alive! Because it is God Who makes it so.

That’s the News Analysis for the week.   Thank you.
