This is the News Analysis segment of the Voice of Biafra International (VOBI) broadcasts

For December 31st, 2005

You have heard the news; now, the analysis…

Fellow Biafrans:

Our New Year Resolution is the release of

Benedict Alakwem, Ambrose Anyaso, Augustine Ihuoma, Chibuike Nwosu, Chimankpa Okorocha, and Kelechi Ubabuike;

Our New Year Wish is the divine compensation, consolation and comforting of all those who have fallen or have been injured or displaced or victimized for the sake of Biafra; our New Year Prayer is for divine strengthening, sustenance and protection of all those fighting the Biafra cause. Our New Year Goal is the formalization of a Sovereign and Independent Nation of Biafra, the logical result of our partnering with our God in the fulfillment of God’s Will for Biafra and our desire for blessed Biafra.

This New Year, we have a word or two for Biafran intellectuals and elite, especially Igbo-Biafrans, who have thus far behaved like Nigeria by choosing to completely ignore the existence, the importance, the will and desire, of the masses of Biafrans. We include among this group the Igbo and other Biafrans of the “political class” whose immeasurable failing shows as the total neglect of Igbo-Biafran masses, a class whose members brag while telling the rest of us that they are purely politicians, meaning that their goal is to win elections by any means possible, serve in “any government in power,” and live off public power and funds converted into personal power and loot, while absolutely neglecting the masses.

We want to remind the intelligentsia, elite and political class that Igbo and Biafran masses have spoken—not through the elitist media denied them by the gentry society, not through the pompous yet empty words of the “educated,” not through the hypocritical communiqués and conflicting, deceiving body language of the movers and shakers and economic powerhouses of the sick society called Nigeria: no. Igbo masses—Biafran masses—have spoken through consistent action:

These are incontrovertible facts: you, the elite, are the “educated” ones; you may choose to deny the facts, but you will only be fooling your own selves. When you put these facts together, you can see that our masses want Biafra, and they support and trust MASSOB and its agenda of a non-violent program for the actualization of Biafra. Our masses have declared for Biafra, NOT Nigeria; and they are with MASSOB.  We thank our people for that.

We want to add, and you, the intelligentsia, can deny it if you want, that even in the arena of politics, it was Biafrans acting out of solidarity and unity for the sake of Biafra, on our bidding, who placed APGA on the map in a country which had already dismissed APGA as an inconsequential Igbo contender, and we accomplished that by mass-voting for APGA—in the name of Biafra—in the 2003 elections. Even as we predicted then, Nigeria was to rig the elections and rig APGA out of this electoral mandate in the Biafra territory. Of course, that made no difference to you because most of you were already and always in bed with the rigger-monster, PDP, and its Obasanjo-fraud machine.

We want to tell you all that we are going to get Biafra—with or without you; that we will get Biafra even if you work against us like you have been thus far. The question is: What will you do when we get Biafra? Think about it. If you think that you will join Nigeria and remain the slave you have always been therein, good luck: whatever is left of Nigeria—if anything—will have you for dinner, literally.  Because you are Igbo; because you are Biafran—that’s how they see you, that’s what you will always be; and that’s why they will always hate and persecute you so, even more so than they are doing today, a crime against your own people, which you have closed your eyes and mind to.

‘Still refusing to believe that we shall get Biafra? That’s your problem. But, just you look around you: even if we do not lift a finger, Nigeria will fail—Nigeria has always been on a self-destruct program. Nothing you and your wishful see-no-evil denial can do will change that: Nigeria’s fate is self-destruction and oblivion.

Thus, we spend our New Year message, which we should deservingly devote to thanking and encouraging our masses—our people—to stay the course until we actualize Biafra, asking you, the intelligentsia, elite and political class of the Igbo and Biafrans instead, to change your course, your attitude and your acts, at this time and from this time onwards, in favor of Biafra actualization. Because, when we get Biafra, we know you will return, for the simple reason that you are our own blood. Spare us and yourselves the awkwardness of that day: do the right thing now; join our struggle, because it is your struggle, too.  Biafra needs all Biafrans—now and in the future.

We will not conclude this New Year’s Eve broadcast without bringing this to your notice.  A THISDAY 12.26.2005 newspaper report by By Oke Epia, titled “Govs Want N/Assembly to Act First,” subtitled, “Bafarawa: ‘Count me out’” sub-subtitled: “Third Term,”
gives us this chilling insight as to the method and mode of operations of Northern Nigeria with regards to the Igbo in Nigeria. Keep in mind, this is reported as coming from a “moderate” Northern governor:

“...A prominent Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governor from the North said yesterday that the North would not react to the recent statement made in Enugu by governors from the South "but that is in itself the danger."

And, here, fellow Biafrans, is that danger, as threatened by this “moderate” Northern Governor:

"...But according to the Northern governor, "when after the pogrom of 1966, General Aguiyi Ironsi started moving around the country behaving like a conqueror, our people said nothing until the killings and the reprisal attack that eventually culminated in a civil war. I hope we are not travelling along that road again…."

For the efulefu who keep insisting that they are taking the Igbo back to one-Nigeria, or are running for the Presidency of Nigeria, this is for them: a lesson which they have conveniently ignored. The rest of us know that when we have our own country of Biafra, our interactions and transactions with the nation(s) of Northern Nigeria will be through well-established International diplomatic norms; any infractions will be dealt with as an International incident at the International level. If anyone wants to stay / live in Nigeria where the North can do what they please with him or her—even as the President of Nigeria—that’s his/her problem. Whatever power the North has, it stops in Nigeria. With Biafra outside of Nigeria, the North’s threat is meaningless. Biafra is the answer.

Biafra alive! Biafra is the answer. For, God makes it so.

That’s the News Analysis for the week.

2006 brings us Biafra actualized—Amen.
