This is the News Analysis segment of the Voice of Biafra International (VOBI) broadcasts
Stop Press
We and the world have learned that the very able MASSOB Director of Information, Mazi Uchenna Madu, was arrested by the Nigeria SSS on December 7, 2005 and taken to Abuja SSS prison on the orders of General Obasanjo who was terribly upset and defeated by the huge success of the just concluded sit-in protest by the Igbo, Biafrans, and MASSOB in our land and in Nigeria. We petition God in our prayers for Mazi Madu’s protection, as well as for Uwazurike and other MASSOB leaders and members now languishing in Obasanjo’s jails. We hold Obasanjo and his SSS and police responsible for any and everything that happens to Mazi Madu and other Igbo / Biafran / MASSOB persons held by them in their dungeons. This time around, the world is our witness.
If Obasanjo and Nigeria think that MASSOB / Biafra are going away, they make a mistake. We are announcing here the continuation of the non-violent protests. The Women of Biafra, led by the Amazon herself, Lolo (Ms) Uwazurike, will continue non-violent street protests in Lagos on Monday, December 12, starting 8.00AM from 22 Adijjededun Agulejika. These protests will move to Abuja in due course. We insist on a non-violent protest action, even though we are fully aware of Nigeria police violence awaiting our non-violent protesters—even our women protesters.
Biafra is the answer. We invite Obasanjo / Nigeria to the table for peaceful negotiations on other issues. All the one-sided violence he and Nigeria are directing towards us can never stop Biafra, but will instead make us even more determined.

For December 10th, 2005
You have heard the news; now, the analysis…
Great Biafrans:
You did it! You have done it! We are extremely pleased by the response of our people on December 5 and December 6 in compliance with our call for a sit-in protest organized by MASSOB (Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra) to demand the release of Ralph Uwazurike, the leader of MASSOB, and the six other MASSOB members, and to demonstrate our solidarity in support of MASSOB and the agenda of non-violent actualization of Biafra. It was a smashing success! Bravo! Congratulations!
We are deeply moved by the fact that on December 5 and 6, our people have once again confirmed, validated and reaffirmed what our people said earlier by their deed on August 26, 2004, which is a clear demonstration of the adoption of the principle of Self Determination for us leading to the actualization of Biafra. Our total support for MASSOB and its leadership is a tacit adoption of the non-violent code of conduct of MASSOB for the strategy to be used in the actualization of Biafra. In humility, we thank you, our people. We thank MASSOB. We thank MASSOB membership; and we thank MASSOB leadership.
Fellow Biafrans: we lost a number of great Biafran souls in this exercise. We must place the blame squarely on the shoulders of a clique of trigger-happy, bloodthirsty Nigeria police who find, with great relish, every opportunity to kill an Igbo or a Biafran. We planned a non-violent protest in our own land and stuck to it; wherever the police did not go out of their way looking for Igbo and Biafrans to shoot, there was no history of violence. The Nigeria police came with live-rounds; Biafrans and MASSOBians are unarmed, engaged in, as usual, a non-violent protest. We will ever hold the Nigeria police responsible for killing our brethren. We commend our courageous fallen brethren to the bosom of our God where at last, they have found freedom and liberty, and Love—that “love that passeth all understanding…”; from where they can see shining Biafra waiting for us here, in our lifetime. Only God can comfort their families—which includes us all, for they are truly our family. We also invoke the healing power and rehabilitative medicine of God Himself for those great Biafrans wounded and or arrested and or jailed and or tortured by the Nigeria police in, and because of, this protest.
While we lament that Ralph Uwazurike, the leader of MASSOB, and the six other MASSOB leaders whose names we will call, were not even brought to court as scheduled on December 6, and that their case has been postponed for yet another month, in order to prolong their needless ordeal and show off the meanness and wickedness of Nigeria, we know that they will be extremely pleased with the response of our people, the maturity and courage exhibited by our people in conducting the protest-exercise, and the full support of our people for them. We want that to be some consolation for them, even as we must raise our voice and face in supplication to our God to truly comfort and really console them, as only God, and no human being, can. We pray that our brethren will reach within and grab on to Divine courage as they pass through this ordeal and make this sacrifice for the sake of, and love for, Biafra. Here are their names, our MASSOB / Biafran heroes:
1. Benedict Alakwem
2. Ambrose Anyaso
3. Augustine Ihuoma
4. Chibuike Nwosu
5. Chimankpa Okorocha
6. Kelechi Ubabuike; and of course,
7. Ralph Uwazurike.
We have not forgotten, and will never forget, that at least 8 other Biafrans still remain in jail of the original “MASSOB 53” arrested on a soccer field in Lagos during a soccer tournament, and imprisoned by Nigeria for over a year now. We understand that at least one, possibly two, have died while in prison, and no accountability has been forthcoming from the Nigeria prison officials. Their appearance in court on the 6th of December was once again postponed for no good reason at all. May God sustain them as we grieve for them.
Great Biafrans, Great MASSOBians: we appreciate you. We appreciate your steadfastness and your bravery. This week, you told the world that you are serious about Biafra; that you are committed to Biafra actualization. You told Nigeria that though it break our bones, rip our flesh and spill our blood, we remain, still, Biafrans; and will seek Biafra until we actualize Biafra. You told Nigeria that no matter how many MASSOB leaders they arrest and imprison, the goal of Biafra actualization will be pursued without let, and Biafra will be actualized. Thank you for that. The world heard you. Nigeria, pretend or not, has also heard you. We must make sure that that message remains in their face until Biafra is actualized.
As for the efulefu Igbo, they have shamed themselves and made themselves a laughing stock—all by themselves. While Biafrans stayed home in protest, the leadership of WIC, true to type, traveled from the US to Abuja to party with Obasanjo—imagine that! Old man, Joe Achuzie, whose unquenchable greed for money led him to disavow MASSOB and to utter the shocking but idiotic and cowardly recommendation that Uwazurike should not be released, needs to crawl back into his house and therein confine himself in shame and in remorseful silence reserved for weaklings, turncoats and paid saboteurs. And, Ohaneze, whom he claims he was speaking for, should now understand that MASSOB represents and speaks for our people, not Ohaneze, as Ohaneze previously self-arrogated; it is time for Ohaneze to disband, because Obasanjo and Nigeria and the Caliphates will no longer spend their corrupting bribery money buying Ohaneze to sell out our people. Ditto for WIC. In any case, our people will have nothing more to do with either Ohaneze or WIC. The remaining efulefu who pretend that there exists an “Igbo mainstream” other than our people, which means, Biafrans and MASSOB, need to hang their heads low, in shame, for deceiving themselves and trying to deceive others. There is only one mainstream in our land: it is the masses of our people quietly and fully supporting and carrying out the MASSOB agenda of Biafra actualization. For them, it is not just a MASOB agenda, but our very own agenda, because Biafra is all that we know and all that we will accept for a Nation. On December 5 and 6, 2005, as well as back on August 26 2004, our people made this very clear. Any more talk of any other “Igbo mainstream” is a connived phantom, a barefaced lie with no factual basis.
Great Biafrans: today, and from now onwards, always stand up straight and proud: you now know beyond the shadow of a doubt that you can act in solidarity and express your support and love for Biafra and Biafra actualization, no matter what. You know now that Biafra actualization is only a matter of time; and we shall do it! The Lord be praised! Amen!
Biafra is the answer. For, God makes it so.
That’s the News Analysis for the week. Thank you
