This is the News Analysis segment of the Voice of Biafra International broadcasts

For August 7th, 2004

You have heard the news; now, the analysis…

“My peoples and my nations shall not be sacrificed for the sake of preserving a worthless idea called Nigeria.” So speaketh the Lord. And so it is.

“The peoples and their nations must live and thrive, though the name and concept of Nigeria die. The peoples and their nations must not and will not be allowed to perish just to save a dying Nigeria.” So says the Lord.

Fellow Biafrans: God has spoken. It is so.

We would like to remind everyone that each passing day that we continue to find ourselves within the political structure of one-Nigeria, we are being dispossessed and hunted down and jailed and killed by Nigeria and her agents, her officials and her so-called leaders—all without accountability, and all without provocation. To them, the fact that we are Igbo, the fact that we are Biafrans, is provocation enough; it is all the excuse they need to do (and to continue to do) all these bad things to us.

It is for this reason that every Biafran should be very upset with anybody or any organization that wants to keep us (or wants to continue to keep us) in the one-Nigeria structure. Especially if such a person is Igbo or Biafran. Especially if such an organization is Igbo or Biafran. It is for this reason that we, as Biafrans, should no longer remain silent while some Igbo and or some Biafrans work for the Nigerian anti-Igbo anti-Biafran policy, and become any part of the Igbo-killing, Biafra-mowing machinery of Nigeria. Anyone who supports Obasanjo or Babangida or the North or the West for that matter, in their ongoing mistreatment of Ndigbo and other Biafrans must be challenged and shunned if he or she will not stop and or change their ways. Because, what they are doing hurts us today; hurt us yesterday, and will continue to hurt us in the future. We know and understand one-Nigeria. There is nothing in one-Nigeria that is not deliberately designed to hurt, kill, dispossess and humiliate Ndigbo and Biafrans.

So, when the likes of Irukwu and his cronies tell us that we should be “building bridges” to other parts of Nigeria, and he goes on to tell us that this is in the interest of making one-Nigeria stronger,  Irukwu has immediately placed himself within the camp of those few Igbo who are killing us Igbo and Biafrans, by his/their refusal to accept the truth of Ndigbo-Biafra’s hapless and bloody lot in one-Nigeria. When Irukwu commits this treason against his own people after he has just conferred with Obasanjo and money has changed hands, then, Irukwu is guilty of the same crimes against humanity for which we shall surely bring to justice Obasanjo and all other offenders in the International Court one day. When Irukwu makes statements such as this and behaves as such after identifying himself with the forces of Babangida, another arch Igbo-Biafran tormentor, Irukwu has become a willing participant in the ongoing destruction of Igbo-Biafra by one-Nigeria.

Fellow Biafrans: we have to treat Irukwu like a leper; he has brought this upon his own self, and has shown no remorse at all. We are going to make an example of Irukwu, because, we have kept quiet enough, and all that has happened is that we get more people like him, and we are being dragged through the dust to our graves because of the likes of him and one-Nigeria. Just think: if we had given Iwuanyanwu the cold shoulder and ostracized him when he betrayed us by working for the enemy while we trusted him with a position and a role in Ohaneze one year earlier, we might have saved Irukwu from similar blunder today. We shall now also extend the ostracism to Iwuanyanwu.

You know, these two—Irukwu and Iwuanyanwu—used Ohaneze, an Igbo organization, to work against the interests of Ndigbo. You know, they handed Ohaneze over to Obasanjo and Babangida and the North, and then used that vehicle to continue to implement the perpetration of evil on Ndigbo by those persons and forces. What a shame! Obasanjo pre-selected the officials of Ohaneze; and Babangida filled in the gaps,  except for Colonel Achuzie, the Secretary-General. It is for this reason that Iwuanyanwu retained a committee chairmanship in the current Ohaneze—despite his past treachery—and Irukwu emerged as the President.

Fellow Biafrans, Ohaneze remains under the influence of Obasanjo and Babangida and the North, working through agents such as Irukwu and Iwuanyanwu. The actions of these two, and their statements, are proof. The perceived image of Ohaneze now is that of an organization serving the interests of one-Nigeria instead of the interests of Ndigbo and Biafrans. For example, we have received reports that some Igbo officials of some group called Ohaneze in non-Igbo Biafran territories have worked directly against MASSOB movement and membership in those areas, to the extent of fingering MASSOB members and colluding with the police to harass and arrest them! Imagine that: an Igbo, working through an organization called Ohaneze, calling and assisting the police to harass and arrest MASSOB members! What a shame! This is the result of our continuing to keep quiet while the likes of Irukwu and Iwuanyanwu and other Obasanjo agents turn Ohaneze into a convenient and conniving vehicle used to trick and further crush Igbo-Biafrans.

Well, we can’t allow this to happen—not again. If Ohaneze is not ready to reform, we shall throw out this baby along with the soiled bath-water. Yes, if  Ohaneze does not rid itself of Obasanjo-plants and operatives such as Irukwu and Iwuanyanwu, we shall also squash Ohaneze by sidelining it and ignoring it. And, if Ohaneze allows any person representing it in any way to be part of any anti-MASSOB action, we shall hold both Ohaneze and such a person responsible for any ill which might befall MASSOB and membership as a consequence of the former's action. As for the reported incident, Ohaneze needs to be certain of one thing: we have the names—recorded indelibly, for retrieval when the time comes; Ohaneze becomes an accessory.

Fellow Biafrans: there is no reason to continue to take the ongoing mistreatment and dehumanization of our people by Obasanjo’s Igbo-Biafran agents. Obasanjo and Nigeria are always bent on peppering Ndigbo-Biafrans; let them do their own dirty work by themselves, and we shall face them. By working on Biafra and Biafra actualization, we have checkmated them. But, we refuse to give any latitude to any Igbo-Biafran to perform this wicked task against us on behalf of Obasanjo and the rest of Nigeria.  We will not allow Igbo-Biafrans to drag or keep us in one-Nigeria, especially if they are going to use a vehicle such as Ohaneze. They are killing us day by day. Irukwu and Iwuanyanwu must be ostracized and given that message; and Ohaneze will follow suite if it does not distinguish itself as clean of, and rid of, Obasanjo’s agents.

There is only one choice. It is Biafra.  Nothing else qualifies in any way as an option.

Biafra lives,  because God made it that way. It is God’s pleasure to create Biafra and the people He placed there..

That’s the news analysis for the week. Thank you.

God bless and keep Biafra, and you, until our next broadcast. Voice of Biafra International (VOBI) broadcast continues (http://www.biafraland.com/vobi.htm) with the summary of the News Analysis in Igbo language
