This is the News Analysis segment of the Voice of Biafra International broadcasts

For June 26th, 2004

You have heard the news; now, the analysis…

“My peoples and my nations shall not be sacrificed for the sake of preserving a worthless idea called Nigeria.” So speaketh the Lord. And so it is.

“The peoples and their nations must live and thrive, though the name and concept of Nigeria die. The peoples and their nations must not and will not be allowed to perish just to save a dying Nigeria.” So says the Lord.

Fellow Biafrans: The Word of God is a Divine PROMISE. It is LAW.

No one should understand God’s Promise better than believers in One Just God. No one should understand the Word of God being Law better than the collectivity of our Churches. So, today, we address our Churches. We have learned that in the face of relentless murderous onslaught by Muslims in the North, the Church leadership there has gone into, and advised the policy of, “Passive Self-Defense” model.  Let us dissect this model to see how it might work. Usually, after their weekly Friday “prayer” gathering, the Muslims plan their attack and by Saturday or Sunday, or sometime during the week, they pick up all kinds of lethal weapons and go after Christians, Christian churches, the Christians' homes,  the Christians' property, and there, commit murder, arson, looting and cause mayhem against the Christians.

To deploy the self-defense model plan, you would have to match the weaponry of your attacker. That means, procure guns and rifles and ammunition. Then you have to protect not just yourself and your family, but also your churches and your property—armed for effective self-defense. Not just armed, but you have to remain on a 24-hour security watch, especially on Saturday and especially on Sunday, when you are supposed to be in Church conducting your own worship.

What are the realities? Well, if you are caught with a gun in the North, because you are Christian (which means mostly Biafran: Igbo and others), the Nigerian government security apparatus which failed to protect you in the first place from marauding Muslims, will shoot you on sight. How realistic is it that you can watch your back, that of your family and friends, and then, your property, your business, and then, your Churches—twenty-four hours a day? For how long—for as long as Islam exists in the North? Remember that the State governments of Muslim North empower, support and enable the Muslim attackers. Remember that even if you took refuge in a Police Station, you will be abandoned, or worse still, be turned over, by the Nigerian Police to the rampaging Muslims.

And, if you actually defend yourself successfully for this one day, this one attack, Obasanjo and his administration will come down hard on you and tell you that he is a better Christian than you are. He will conveniently point out to you that retaliation is not a part of Christian Doctrine (never mind that you were defending yourself—and only because his administration and government allowed and enabled the conditions which now bring death and suffering to you, in the first place). You will be criticized, ridiculed and insulted by Obasanjo; humiliated, detained, and be forced to apologize to Obasanjo by his even nastier and more heartless security agents and sycophants. Obasanjo will send the Military to occupy and harass your section of the city, while your attackers are left unchallenged to continue their deadly activities and business.

Fellow Christians and Churchgoers, Churches and Church leadership, we went through this exercise to match your human reasoning, to point out to you the futility of this passive self-defense model which gives at best a very false sense of security; at the worst, constitutes a recipe for annihilation. This is not God’s Plan for you. It is a human Committee plan. It will not work, no matter how much praying and fasting you put behind it—as you have been. Let us once again state God’s Plan for you—for us—with the confidence that like Noah, you will eventually go with God’s Plan.

“Out of the mouth of babes will issue the Words and Wisdom of God…Truth…”  God’s Plan for us is that all Christian Biafrans living in the North shall return to their homeland, Biafra, and there formalize the Biafran Nation where God will protect them from the Northern Muslims. Christian Northerners shall form their own Christian Nation in their own land in the North, separate, different and independent of the Muslim Arewa people of the North, for their own (Christians') protection. That is God’s Plan.  This is the answer to all the prayers pertaining to the matter. God is gathering His peoples, taking them out of all troubled waters and placing them under His protection in His assigned locations.

A Divine word is enough for the wise—for the discerning and trusting and obedient. For the rest, fruitless fasting and praying will not bend God’s Plan. Now, it’s up to you to decide which camp you are in.

Fellow Biafrans, we have heard of Obasanjo and his fellow hypocrites’ new propaganda and agenda. They are going around touting what they call a "NATIONAL PEACE FORUM" where people can sign a form to state that they are “...committed to a united Nigeria…” To be blunt, there is no such thing as a “united Nigeria” and there will never be. Look at what Christians—Biafrans and the Churches—are being put through by Muslim Northern Nigerians as stated earlier. How can any serious and honest person commit to a “united Nigeria” when Muslims in the North will not allow non-Muslims there to live in peace and live with the rights of Nigerian citizenship there? Remember, it is not only that the Muslims have their own constitution and agenda separate from that of Nigeria, but the Muslim States governments in the North are actively behind that agenda. And, worst of all, the Nigerian government will do nothing to challenge the Muslim States and the Northern Muslims; but instead looks the other way as these atrocities are being perpetrated on hapless Christian citizenry who have turned themselves into cowards in order to not rock the boat of Nigeria. If this government and its fraudulent hypocritical self-appointed so-called leaders cannot protect your basic rights, and have no ideas or plans about doing so, what business does the government have telling you to commit to a “united Nigeria”? And, if you buy their fake product, what are you, yourself? Are you hoping to become one of the elite few who are reaping immense personal benefits from the current suffering and dying of the peoples condemned to live in a forced “united Nigeria”? Are, are you just another fool?

Nigeria is not one. It will never be.

Biafra is our home, our place, our heritage. Biafra is us and we are Biafra. God makes it so, and we shall always go with God.

Hail Biafra! Our Motherland, our Fatherland, our God-land.

That’s the news analysis for the week. Thank you.

God bless and keep Biafra, and you, until our next broadcast. Voice of Biafra International (VOBI) broadcast continues (http://www.biafraland.com/vobi.htm) with the summary of the News Analysis in Igbo language
