This is the News Analysis segment of the Voice of Biafra International broadcasts

For May 22nd,  2004

You have heard the news; now, the analysis…

“My peoples and my nations shall not be sacrificed for the sake of preserving a worthless idea called Nigeria.” So speaketh the Lord. And so it is.

“The peoples and their nations must live and thrive, though the name and concept of Nigeria die. The peoples and their nations must not and will not be allowed to perish just to save a dying Nigeria.” So says the Lord.

Fellow Biafrans: The Lord has spoken. So it is. So it shall be!

We see how the crises multiply in Nigeria—from all quarters. Each crisis  exposes General Obasanjo and his fraudulent regime for what they are: a crumbling dictatorship that has run out of ideas—not that they ever had any ideas to start with. General Obasanjo just imposed a State of Emergency and used that excuse to sack the elected governor and then, to appoint a military man (even if ex-military)  to be the new governor of Plateau State. This proves what we have always known: while Obasanjo and his regime harp about “democracy” all the time, he is actually still a military dictator, applying visionless military tactics and clueless military policies to brutalized, repressed, dejected, hopeless masses, backed by his sycophants feeding off his table. It is so bad that after General Obasanjo behaved in a manner more befitting of Idi Amin than of an elected official, no less than the so-called head of State for that matter, when he called the Head of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) an “idiot”, Obasanjo’s sycophant-Security Officers actually detained the Head of CAN, interrogated him and then, demanded that he apologize to Mr. Obasanjo! What a farce! What arrogance! And, they still have the guts to call it a “democracy” in Nigeria? What do they say?  “Pride comes before the fall.” “Whom the gods would eliminate they first make mad.” Today, Obasanjo is acting ever worse than Abacha: he who does not learn from history is soon to be that history himself.

Fellow Biafrans: not that we expected any different with respect to the crises rocking Nigeria.  We know fully well that we are now under the dispensation of God’s Divine Plan to get Biafra out of Nigeria, and we can expect a parallel sequence of events as between the Israelites and Pharaoh / Egypt. Of that, remain assured, and put your confidence and trust in God. The longer anything, anyone, or any principality delays the freeing of Biafra from Nigeria, the more crises Nigeria will face, the more suffering, and the more Nigeria sinks into the abyss. In the end, the result will be the same on the Biafran side: Biafra shall be liberated from Nigeria—Biafra is actualized. So, be ready to do your part, always.

And that which we must do is quite clear to MASSOB Mali. Our MASSOB brothers and sisters there in Mali demonstrated against Obasanjo’s oppression of Biafra, and in favor of Biafra actualization, in front of African Union Leaders, where Obasanjo was showing his face (never mind that Nigeria is burning). That action on the part of MASSOB MALI took extreme courage and bravery as only God can grant, and as only those can display who have faith in God, commitment to God’s Plan to actualize Biafra, and a personal and collective conviction of the sacrifice that each one of us must make for the cause of Biafra actualization. We say, Thank you, fellow-MASSOBians in Mali; Biafra appreciates you, and God protects you. You are a shining example for the rest of us!

While MASSOB Mali knows the one desire and the message—Biafra actualization—and while MASSOB everywhere—which is what all of Biafrans are—knows exactly what we want out of the evil situation in Nigeria, we have to ask: does Ohaneze know what Biafrans want? Judging from the recent official statement put out by Ohaneze warning Nigeria that Igbo-Biafrans-Christians will no longer stand by while the Muslims decimate us in the North, one would think that Ohaneze knows where Oha stands. However, the rest of the statement reveals an ongoing battle within Ohaneze, where old guards loyal to the money and positions (crumbs) offered them by Obasanjo and Nigeria-tormentors of Ndigbo, have continued to influence the “new” Ohaneze. For one, Oha has spoken: No Biafran should be killed anywhere or harassed and imprisoned anywhere for the mere reason that they choose Biafra —not just in the North; a lot of that is still happening in Biafraland, even right now. So, Ohaneze’s warning statement was only half-a-statement. Then, the rest of it manages to praise Obasanjo—for what? Some of it talks about unity of Nigeria or true federalism of Nigeria or some nonsense like that. Worst of all, this rift within Ohaneze is so deep that the statement is talking about a “national conference” while Biafrans and even the rest of Nigeria and the world are getting ready for a “Sovereign National Conference,” and we recognize that Ohaneze knows quite well what the difference is. A so-called "national conference" is Obasanjo’s version and a fake / fraud: it’s sole intent is to continue to force Nigeria into being one. A Sovereign National Conference, on the other hand, recognizes that each nation which has hithertofore been forced into a false union known as Nigeria, actually is a sovereign and independent nation, and the Sovereign National conference is a peaceful vehicle to ratify and recognize such sovereignties and to determine future INTER-national relationships, and to divvy up the burdens of erstwhile Nigeria

So, the people once again tell Ohaneze: we want Biafra! Nothing else—nothing less. The people stand behind elements of the “new” Ohaneze who are determined to fight for what the people desire—Biafra. That’s the meaning of representation. We empower these elements to purge out the old guard, the efulefu’s who, for mere crumbs and pittance, sold us out to the tormentors of Ndigbo such as Obasanjo and Nigeria; and who are now still trying to influence what Ohaneze does. We empower the progressive representatives of Oha in Ohaneze to remove and dismiss any members of Ohaneze who are still loyal to one-Nigeria and to Obasanjo, and to do it now, before it is too late. History will bear us witness that, up until now, we have come this far in the struggle for Biafra actualization without the help of Ohaneze as an organization; in fact, we have accomplished what we have so far in spite of opposition and mockery by Ohaneze. God knows that we shall achieve Biafra actualization, and we can do it without Ohaneze, or with Ohaneze: It's up to the new Ohaneze to decide.

We ask all Biafrans to find all and any ways possible to make certain that the new Ohaneze is talking only about Biafra and Biafra actualization. We are not about one-Nigeria. We are not about “federating units”—whatever that is. We are not interested in “true federalism” or whatever; those are nonsense terms and non-concepts, If Ohaneze will not speak up in support and defense of Biafra boldly and openly, and Biafra actualization, then Ohaneze should not say anything at all.

Fellow Biafrans: each day brings us that much closer to what God has prepared for us, that which alone can fulfill our lives and fulfill us as individuals and as a collective Nation—Biafra. As such start acting Biafran, start thinking Biafra; live and think Biafra!

Biafra lives, because it is God’s pleasure so to be; with the same pleasure God created you Biafran.

That’s the news analysis for the week. Thank you.

God bless and keep Biafra , and you, until our next broadcast. Voice of Biafra International (VOBI) broadcast continues (http://www.biafraland.com/vobi.htm) with the summary of the News Analysis in Igbo Language.
