This is the News Analysis segment of the Voice of Biafra International broadcasts

For April 10th, 2004

You have heard the news; now, the analysis…

“My peoples and my nations shall not be sacrificed for the sake of preserving a worthless idea called Nigeria.” So speaketh the Lord. And so it is.

“The peoples and their nations must live and thrive, though the name and concept of Nigeria die. The peoples and their nations must not and will not be allowed to perish just to save a dying Nigeria.” So says the Lord.

Fellow Biafrans: Listen to the Word of God so you may receive hope, wisdom and guidance.

As we speak tonight, the insecurity problems in Nigeria continue unabated. Arrogant men in high offices in the corruption and evil called Nigeria continue to use the government security apparatus to settle personal scores, to the detriment of their opponents. The engine behind the murders that were blamed on “armed robbers” by Obasanjo is now becoming evident: it is not armed robbers—we knew that all along. It is the evil PDP and its leaders (of which Obasanjo is one) and their murderous paid operatives.

One thing can be concluded about all this. Obasanjo knew and knows about everything that is going on. He wants to lie about it. He also directed that Nigerians living abroad should lie and tell the outside world that everything is just fine in Nigeria. Maybe, his fellow Nigerians residing overseas would practice dishonesty with him, but no Biafran, whether living in Diaspora or at home in Biafraland, would be dumb enough to tell the world such a great lie, least of all, at the bidding of Obasanjo. Earlier, we warned the peoples living in misery in Nigeria that if they did nothing but watch Obasanjo and PDP defraud their way into governance, using crooked tools and criminal means, that the peoples are only ushering in a time when only dishonesty will reign in Nigeria, and no one would have the moral courage to demand otherwise. Well, that “prophecy” is now upon us.  Ask persons like Anenih, and  Balogun, and then, ask Obasanjo who awarded them the highest Nigerian National honors just this past year. Look at Uba and Ngige, and the likes of Orji Uzor Kalu.

The latest unease comes from the rumors of a coup. Of course, peoples living in misery in Nigeria have nowhere else to look to for relief. Obasanjo’s decidedly anti-people policies have knocked the people unconscious into their collective grave. What is Obasanjo’s sensitive response to the peoples' hapless plight? Yes, Obasanjo tells the peoples that they have to accept more suffering. Who will then protect the peoples from these injurious policies? The National Assembly? Not those spineless jokers whose only business is to collect bribes, make a little noise, and then, do Obasanjo’s bidding. The National Assembly is so ignorant that they don’t even know what their constitutional duties are, nor those of the President, with the result that Obasanjo has gotten away with egregious constitutional infractions. Or, is rescue coming from the Senate? The Senate President is a weakling and a hopeless sycophant serving at the mercy and pleasure of Obasanjo, having no backbone at all to lead a group who may be more interested in the perks of office rather than the responsibilities required for the office.  For a while, the only remaining institution standing between the peoples’ grave and the insensitive Obasanjo’s bulldozer charging to complete the peoples’ burial, was the Nigerian Labor Congress, NLC. Using his control over the judiciary, Obasanjo crookedly and cunningly disarmed the NLC. So, we ask, who else? What else will save the peoples suffering in Nigeria from the crushing oppression of Obasanjo’s regime? Only Divine intervention; or a military coup, of course. Oh yes, that unease will be there until the final end of Nigeria, because the heart of leaders has been hardened, getting them ready for the final Divine blow.

Fellow Biafrans; keep in mind that whatever the other peoples living in misery in Nigeria have suffered, Biafrans have received a thousand times worse. It is not just that Nigeria is crushing everyone, but, Nigeria deliberately and by policy targets Biafrans for oppression, humiliation, exploitation, injury and death by killing. Nigeria hates everything Igbo and everything Biafran. You can see this everywhere you look, and Nigeria can’t even hide it from the efulefu’s among Biafrans who have chosen to pretend that Igbo-Biafrans are not being abused, used, misused and victimized by Nigeria. This will not be the first time in history that a member of the oppressed and victimized has taken sides with the oppressor. It does not make it right, though.

As such, we are going to reach the conscience of our people, the people of the Nation of Biafra, today. If you are running around getting ready to campaign for Obasanjo or Buhari or Babaginda for 2007, STOP! right there; because you are not doing Ndigbo-Biafrans any favors. If you are out there chomping around for PDP, ANPP, or AD for 2007, you are selling out your people—again. You have done it in the past and never gave it a second thought. Today, you can’t do it, pretending that you do not know that it has hurt our own people—your own people. You can’t do it. Because, you are killing your own people.

In fact, if you are thinking of 2007, we urge you to STOP! right there. Because, it is just 2004; it is still 2004. We are struggling and writhing in pain right now in 2004, from the ongoing injury that Nigeria has inflicted on us. We are going to deal with this injury today, in 2004, not in 2007. We urge you to focus on 2004—now. The reason is simple: if we do it right today—in 2004—we shall have our own Sovereign Nation of Biafra well before 2007. On the other hand, if we conveniently escape to 2007 without taking a stand today, then, come 2007, we will be lying in our grave in Nigeria with the likes of Obasanjo, Babangida, Buhari and the rest of the Igbo-Biafra-hating Nigeria singing, dancing and spitting on our collective grave.

Fellow Biafrans, we therefore call on every single Biafran to pause and ponder and ask: Whither, Ndigbo?  Whither, Biafra? You have to come up with the conclusion: To Biafra! Biafra actualization—now. We all then have to dedicate or re-dedicate our selves to the struggle for Biafra actualization today. One goal, one focus, one objective: Biafra, now!

So, as the sinking ship called Nigeria rolls and pitches and takes on more water on its way down, we want you all to be ready: at that moment of truth, every one of you must say, BIAFRA OR NOTHING! Some may be tempted and may push for rebuilding or re-joining Nigeria: throw such as them out from amongst you, because they, too, belong with the problem. When things happen this time around, we must all say, "Biafra or nothing!" Perhaps, we were not savvy and wise enough to even consider this at the time of the death of Abacha; thus, we missed a golden opportunity to leave Nigeria, ending up in this continued horrible state today. When next it happens, whether by coup or by any other means, we must declare Biafra and stand on Biafra. If you think that you might be afraid when that happens, then right now, swear it to yourself; vow to yourself that you shall demand and get Biafra, and nothing else, nothing less, when Nigeria falls.

Divine intervention is happening; will you be ready to do your part? Do not forget that God created Biafra and you in His pleasure: it was not a mistake!  As such:

Biafra lives!

That’s the news analysis for the week. Thank you.
