Fellow Biafrans:

Last week, the Nigerian Security men—mostly Hausa-Fulani-led, murdered a Biafran Boy right here on Biafraland, right in Onitsha, The spokesperson for the Hausa-Fulani Nigerian Security went to the news media in the streets of Onitsha, heart of Biafraland and bragged about the killing. What was the boy’s crime? He is a member of MASSOB, and he was wearing MASSOB insignia. During the same operation, the same Hausa-Fulani-dominated and led Nigerian Security agents injured and maimed many MASSOB members and then destroyed MASSOB property. MASSOB never provoked them. MASSOB is a non-violent organization.

Consider that if you are Igbo-Biafran, and you are found in Northern Nigeria , Hausa-Fulani mobs can attack and kill you at will, right under the nose of the Nigerian Security. In fact, we know of many instances when such Igbo-Biafran victims were dragged right out of a police station and killed by the blood-thirsty Hausa-Fulani mobs in the North; all the time, the Northern police did nothing to protect the Igbo-Biafrans. We also know that those hapless Igbo-Biafrans who met their gruesome deaths in this way committed no crime against the State nor against any person.

It is not enough that they kill us in the North like chicken; but now, they also kill us in our own homeland; they attack us even though we are unarmed, they destroy our property and they are doing it right there in our own compound, in our own fatherland. They kill us—old or young, women or men, children: even mere boys—in Igboland, in Biafraland.

And they boast about killing us. They brag about it. Not in faraway places. Not in hushed voices. No: they boast about it openly, loudly and right here, on our own soil. In Igboland. In Biafraland.

Today, we mourn our people killed and injured by the Nigerian Security apparatus. At least 50 members of MASSOB have been killed by these murderers. Hundreds more have been illegally detained in disease-ridden Nigerian prisons without being charged and without any crimes. Just as many have been similarly wounded and maimed; many walk around with Nigeria Security men’s bullets still embedded in their bodies.

For those who falsely accuse MASSOB of being armed, can you tell us how come the Nigerian Security men have never suffered even one casualty all the time that they have been attacking and killing MASSOB members and destroying their property?

We start with this our fallen Biafran Boy; we do not have your name, but God knows your name, and we all know that your surname is Biafra .

We know these names of MASSOB members, brave fellow Biafrans, who died at the hands of the Nigerian security apparatus. Crime? Being Biafrans. Proclaiming Biafra . Flying Biafran flags, Wearing MASSOB insignia.

We commend their souls to the Lord who knows and sees everything. We commend their families to the care of God Almighty. Only time will prove that they did not die in vain, and that time shall be soon.

Now, let us also remember the names of our own kit and kin, Biafrans forced to languish in prison without charge after being wounded by the wicked and inhumane Nigerian Security system which is designed to annihilate and humiliate Biafrans. These fellow Biafrans are in jail only because they believe in Biafra , and joined MASSOB so as to actualize Biafra in peace. They are wallowing in prison while the Nigerian Security agents that put them in there prance around us, gloating and boasting.

We are thankful that the following are still alive, but are equally quite upset because they are imprisoned without charge:

Abuoma E. Emmanuel, (m), 30 years old. Alive

William Sam Njoku held in unlawful detention since Wednesday, March 13, 2002 for the singular fact that he was found with a Biafran flag, is in a terrible state of health. Two weeks ago he was treated at the police clinic in Umuahia. He is aged 41 years; is married to Nwanne Njoku, 33 and they have 3 children namely; Wisdom Njoku (son, 5) Ifeoma Njoku (daughter, 3) and Freedom Njoku (son, 1).

May the freedom that we seek for Biafra and for us and our posterity not be left to Master Freedom Njoku and his peers to fight for later. We want Master Freedom Njoku to see his father free, along with the other Biafrans unjustly denied their freedom by Nigeria . We shall make certain of that.

NIGERIA , LET MY PEOPLE GO! NOW! SO SAYS GOD!

God has ordained Biafra .

Now, fellow Biafrans, let us wake up and answer to the call and do our part in God’s plan and in God’s name, to free Biafra from the clutches of the evil known by “Nigeria,” employing non-violent means. Let us vow that Nigerians shall never again get away with the killing and injuring and maiming and dispossession and unjustified imprisonment of our people, Biafrans. Enough is enough.
