On the Igbo / Biafra issue.

We would like to reiterate that any person who has Igbo blood or Igbo genes is Igbo. We would also like to state categorically that we recognize persons adopted by Igbo parent(s) or raised by Igbo parent(s) as such as Igbo.

On the Biafran issue, all peoples north of the Bight of Biafra up to the boundary with Tiv / Middlebelt region are Biafrans. In other words, we recognize the original area declared as Biafra in 1967. All Biafrans are bothers and sisters: we are not just linked together by geography.

BAF stand is that all Biafrans should associate freely with one another, with equity, cordiality and fraternity.

We trust that strictly Igbo groups will consider the above in their dealings with Biafrans and with the rest of the world, for that matter; and whenever possible, consider extending honorary-type membership to all other Biafrans in their midst.

Finally, we recognize and salute the Biafran Spirit in any person or persons who possess and exhibit such, regardless of where they come from or what they are.
